A lane of Sunset was closed so that a Frontier line that had been cut could be repaired.

Repair Work on Sunset, Tonight and Wednesday

Just when residents thought construction was over and that all lanes of Sunset Boulevard were finally open, one west-bound lane was closed between Monument Street and Swarthmore Avenue on Monday, October 1.

The lane will also be closed again, tonight, Tuesday and most likely on October 3, too.

Turn Around Communications Operations Supervisor, Rick Sanchez said “Not sure when it happened, but when DWP (Los Angeles Department of Water and Power) was digging a trench for a service line, they cut into the Frontier line. We have three different service lines that run through here (including fiber and telecommunication), so we’re just replacing them.”

He said that a temporary fix had been made for the opening of Caruso’s Palisades Village, but now they are making the repair permanent.

A lane of Sunset, at Swarthmore Avenue was closed October 1, during the evening and will also be closed on October 2 and 3.
