The Draycott Will be Open on Christmas and Claire Nordstrom Will Sing on December 16

Claire Nordstrom will sing holiday classics at The Draycott on December 16.

“We are feeling very festive, so we have booked in Claire Nordstrom, a local Palisadian, to sing holiday classics in our lounge from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 16,” wrote The Draycott co-owner Marissa Hermer in an email to Circling the News.

Singer/songwriter Nordstrom and pianist Clark Harris will perform live in The Draycott’s lounge, with Nordstrom singing Christmas classics such as “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting…),” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Santa Baby” and many more.

Many people are looking for a special place to celebrate December 24 and 25, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In response, The Draycott will be open this year to accommodate guests who would like to start a new tradition.

On Christmas Eve day, lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Happy Hour is 3 to 5 p.m. and dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. The bar closes at 9 p.m.

On Christmas Day, there will be a three-course prix fixe menu from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The bar closes at 9 p.m. but there’s no Happy Hour.

Menu starters include a choice of wild mushroom soup, salmon gravlax or roasted beet salad. The main course is a choice between a turkey dinner (turkey, Brussel Sprouts, roast potatoes, red wine-braised short ribs (parsnip puree, roasted carrots, black truffle) or mushroom ravioli (wild mushrooms, shaved Parmesan). Dessert choices include bourbon crème brulee, chocolate entremet or Eton mess.

The restaurant will be open New Year’s Eve from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be no Happy Hour and the restaurant will be closed that evening for a private event. On New Year’s Day, brunch will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Happy Hour is 3 to 5 p.m. and dinner will be normal hours.

If you’re looking for a special way to spend an afternoon, The Draycott is now offering afternoon tea service, daily from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“The menu features quintessential British tea sandwiches, housemade scones and a selection of our Draycott pastries,” said Hermer, who noted that the restaurant is equipped to host holiday gatherings (as well as engagement parties and baby showers). “We have the best view of the Christmas tree and The Draycott’s Afternoon Tea service is the best of British, this side of the Atlantic.”

The Tea menu is $60 per person or $75 with a glass of sparkling rose wine. The restaurant needs 72-hours advance notice. Call (310) 573-8938.
