Special Show at PaliHi and Gelson’s Anniversary
HUNTER BARNETT PRODUCES SHOW at PALIHI
Ms. Palisades Teen Contest 2019 winner and Palisades High School senior Hunter Barnett is producing a show to benefit the Palisades High School Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Department on Saturday, August 24, in Mercer Hall, 15777 Bowdoin St.
“Thank you for your support,” Barnett, the daughter of Matt and Joy, wrote in the announcement. “Can’t wait to see you there.”
Barnett grew up in Pacific Palisades, and this past Fourth of July year, sang the National Anthem to start the 5/10K race.
At PaliHi, she has performed in “Spring Awakening,” “The Producers,” Footloose,” “Sister Act” and “Chicago,” and also wrote and created the character Bibi McClain for a student-led production of “The Special: Burt and Bibi’s Bicentennial Bash.”
One of her favorite roles was Hunyak in “Chicago” because “I had an entire monologue in Hungarian, one of the hardest languages to speak.” She has been part of Fancy Feet’s performance group since eighth grade.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a gallery walk and live music and the show will follow. All proceeds and donations will benefit VAPA. Tickets are $15 for students, $24 for regular admission and $35 for VIP seating and can be purchased at the door.
