Resident Matt Rodman sent this striking photo taken in Pacific Palisades.

Although the Palisades Post Office appears to be intact, it is not operational, and residents are still not allowed in the area.

Residents, with a 90272 address and identification, may pick up their mail at the Rancho Park Post Office located at 11270 Exposition Boulevard, starting today, Monday, January 12. That branch is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Topanga Post Office’s retail and delivery services will be relocated to the Santa Monica Post Office, located at 1653 7th Street. Impacted customers will be able to pick up mail from the Santa Monica Post Office beginning Tuesday, January 14. The Post Office will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If residents have a new temporary address while the Palisades is being rebuilt, they can have mail forwarded to that location, by filling out the appropriate card at the Post Office.

Sue. Hope you are well and your family.
I went to the post office in Culver City and was told it takes longer to forward mail if you fill out a card. You can fill in the forms online and the post office will send a code to your email to verify your identity. Take your phone into a post office for them to scan the code.

    Hi Sue –

So, so sorry to learn that you lost your beautiful, long-time home. You & CTN are what keeps the old-timers together. And you continue to do so. Ours burned to the ground, too. But then, everyone I know lost their homes. How about Bill Bruns? Please LMK. xxxx Pepper

I’m wondering about the mail from adjacent Rustic Canyon, at 90402? Do you have any information? I’d be grateful if you could find out.

What great info you are providing to the people of this community to help with getting “help”. I’m sure there are some people that don’t even know where to begin!! I can’t even imagine this kind of devastation. Take care!

    Lisa,

I’ll see if I can find out.

    Pepper–
I think you lost your home, too? I emailed Bill and he and Pam found a small home in Westchester–so he is safe and accounted for.
