“I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had absolutely no other place to go.” Abraham Lincoln said about prayer.
The Prayer Project 2024, which started in June, continues at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, at Ronald Reagon American Legion Post 283, at 15247 La Cruz Drive. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
The project started in June after almost ten months, of the war in Gaza, which continued to inflict both Israeli and Palestinian casualties. Across denominations residents came together in solidarity with congregation members of Kehillat Israel and Palisades Chabad and in prayer for the innocent citizens in both Israel and Gaza.
Once a month Pastors Joe and Cyndi Ramirez and Palisades residents Nina and Dave Kidd continue this project.
They write, “in December we prepare both to celebrate the birth of our Christian savior and to celebrate Hanukkah, remembering the Maccabees’ victory and the rededication of the temple.
“Whichever is your holy time, we invite you to join us to pray for our beloved neighborhood families, with hopes to rekindle our gratitude for the peace the Lord sends us this season.
“Please join us for this interfaith prayer meeting,” the four write. “As always, we will pray for you and with you. Bring a friend.”
All are welcome including rank and file petitioners as well as prayer beginners and skeptics.
