With the apparent breakdown of his two-year marriage to Jennifer Lopez, it looks like former Palisadian Ben Affleck is becoming Palisades-adjacent.
Escrow closed July 24 on a $20.5 million home on two-thirds of an acre in equestrian-friendly Sullivan Canyon. And Affleck is said to be the buyer. That puts him just outside the edge of Pacific Palisades and across from Paul Revere Middle School.
More importantly for Affleck, this 1941 Cliff May home is private and gated. And it’s only one mile from former wife Jennifer Garner and their three kids in Brentwood Park.
Here are a few details about the Sullivan Canyon property. The 6,200 square-foot home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. There are lots of large windows, allowing light to pour in throughout.
There are gardens and trees all over the grounds. There’s a swimming pool, spa and a guest house. And there’s a bocce ball court.
This is a horse property so there is a stable and a walking ring, along with other facilities for horses.
Meantime, Affleck and Lopez have put their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom home in the Beverly Crest area of L.A. on the market. They paid about $61 million for the 38,000 square-foot mansion when they bought it 14 months ago. They’re asking $68 million now. The sales description notes it was “recently renovated with the highest level of quality within the last four months.”
Over the last few years, Affleck mostly has lived in the Palisades or Brentwood. He and Garner lived in Brentwood before buying a three-acre property in the Upper Riviera from producer Brian Grazer in 2009.
After they split up, they sold it to Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and his wife, model Behati Prinsloo. Affleck bought a newly-constructed home in the Lower Riviera above the Riviera Country, while at the same time Garner rented a home not far away. She lived there while her home in Brentwood Park was being built from the ground up. Recently, Affleck is said to have been renting nearby.
