To Take Place at Legion Post 283 on Wednesday

Actor, author, band member and veterans advocate Gary Sinise will visit American Legion Post 283 on Wednesday, April 24. Tickets are $25 and seating is limited. The event is open to the public.

At 6 p.m. there will be a dinner, followed at 7 p.m. by a question-and-answer period with Sinise.

Sinise’s book, “Grateful American,” tells how he found his calling. Although he is well-known for his roles in Apollo 13RansomTrumanGeorge WallaceCSI:NY and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, it was the role of Lieutenant Dan in the Academy Award–winning Forrest Gump that propelled him to start the Gary Sinise Foundation.

He has worked tirelessly on behalf of those who serve this country, entertaining more than a half million troops around the world playing bass guitar with his Lt. Dan Band and raising funds on behalf of veterans.

The book, published by Thomas Nelson, came out in February. It’s been described as a “moving, entertaining, profoundly gripping story of how one man found his calling: to see that those who defend this country and its freedoms are never forgotten.”

Reservations are necessary. Call: (310) 454-0527.
