The All Schools Elementary Honor Orchestras will perform at UCLA’s Schoenberg Hall.

Concert Features Elementary School Musicians

The 21st Annual All Schools Elementary Honor Orchestra Concert, featuring some of the best elementary school musicians in Los Angeles will be held on Saturday, May 4, at UCLA’s Schoenberg Hall. Because of high-ticket demand, there will be two concerts: one at 10 a.m. and a second at 11:30 a.m.

Students range in age from seven to 12, and the average age of an honor orchestra member is 10. Each child is individually selected by his/her school music teacher to participate.

The concerts will be conducted by long-time Pacific Palisades resident Larry Newman.

“These students are exceptionally talented, and together, make music that inspires not only their parents, but also anyone in Los Angeles who is interested in music, the arts and education,” Newman said. “The honors orchestra is a diverse group of children that come together to play beautiful music in a professional concert setting. It is a shining example of the importance of music in our local schools.”
