The Oom PaPa band welcomes new members of all ages each year. Please join rehearsals from 10:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday morning, beginning June 1, with one evening practice on July 3. Email Marla Eisenberg at meisenberg310@gmail.com with any questions.
With the annual Palisades 4th of July Parade approaching, Palisades Charter High School’s marching band, color guard, and drumline are preparing for this year’s parade. The high school is also collaborating with Paul Revere Middle School musicians.
Under the direction of Peter Ye, PaliHi band director, he urges alumni and others with a connection to the band to contact him via email. Participants will have to attend a two-day training camp to perform. Those interested in performing and marching should email Ye (pye@palihigh.org)
WILL ROGERS RUN:
You know it is a possibility that you will eat or drink too much on the Fourth. Start the day by burning calories by participating in the Will Rogers 5/10K. Enter to run, walk or just stroll as you chat with 3,000 of your best friends on the morning of July 4 – Jimmy Dunne and Sam Lagana will serve as announcers click here..
START DECORATING:
Kids should start making plans to decorate their bikes/scooters for the Bicycle Decorating Contest. The top four entries will receive $50 gift certificates to The Yogurt Shoppe. Now that’s the way to start the summer, eating yogurt.
FEET TIRED?
Don’t feel like dragging chairs to the parade and you don’t want to stand? This year for the first time since 2019, there will be covered grandstand seats (in front of Ralphs). Must prepurchase the tickets, none will be sold at the parade. There is no parking available because Ralphs’ parking lot is used for equine transportation click here.
FIREWORKS TICKETS:
Tickets are limited for the evening’s fireworks and must be purchased prior to the event. NO tickets will be sold AT THE EVENT. Tickets are $10, children ages 3 and under free. Limited VIP reserved parking passes (for the fireworks show) are available on the website click here.
