Kids are encouraged to decorate bikes/scooters in their best patriotic tradition and enter them in the “Kids on Bikes.”

The Yogurt Shoppe, located at 873 Swarthmore, will continue its decade-long tradition of sponsoring the bike unit in the July 4th parade and the “Best Decorated Bike/Scooter Contest” for local Palisades kids.

After decorating the bikes, kids are asked to come to the parade assembly point at the corner of Via de la Paz and Bowdoin, by Palisades Elementary at 1 p.m. on July 4th to enter the contest and have parents sign the waivers to participate in the parade.  (Or go to https://www.palisades4th.com/t and print and fill out the waiver before going to the parade.)

Judging will be done by 1:30 p.m. in time for the 2 p.m. parade start.  “Kids on Bikes,” generally leads the parade after the sky divers land.

Four lucky winners will earn a $50 gift card valid at any TYS store, and have their photos taken before riding in the parade!”

Parents are asked to walk with their children in the parade and are required to meet them at the Palisades Public Library at the end of the route, at 861 Alma Real. No adult supervision is provided by parade organizers.
