Key Fobs Make It Easy for Crooks

Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore reported that there have been 11 stolen vehicles in Pacific Palisades in 2019 and eight have been recovered. All of the cars recovered had keys in them!

Stolen Vehicles
February 15 to 16, between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., in the 500 block of Chapala. The suspect took victim’s vehicle from the street.

February 16, at 1:44 a.m., in the 500 block of Latimer. Four male suspects (no further description) took victim’s vehicle from the street.

February 17 to 18, between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m., in the 600 block of Baylor. The suspect took victim’s vehicle from a driveway.

February 18 to 19, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., in the 1100 block of Iliff. The suspect took victim’s vehicle from a driveway.

February 23 to 24, between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m., in the 17200 block of Sunset. The suspect took victim’s vehicle from a garage.

Burglary

February 18, between 5:45 and 7:30 p.m., in the 1100 block of Bienveneda. The suspect (white male, 15 to 32 years old, 185 lbs. 5’10”) pried open a window to enter victim’s home and took coins and jewelry.

 

Burglary/Theft from Vehicle

February 17, 1 a.m. in the 900 block of Hartzell. The suspect entered victim’s vehicle and took a computer.

February 17, 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Temescal Canyon and Sunset. The suspect smashed a window to enter victim’s vehicle and took a purse and money.

February 17 to 18, between 7:30 p.m. to 11:15 a.m., in the 1500 block of Palisades Dr. The suspect smashed a window to enter victim’s vehicle and took money.

February 18, 12:30 to 2:10 p.m., in the 500 block of Los Liones. The suspect entered victim’s vehicle and took money, a wallet and credit cards.

February 18, 1:15 to 3:40 p.m., in the 500 block of Los Liones. The suspect pried open the trunk of victim’s vehicle and took money and credit cards.

February 23 to 24, 1 p.m. to noon, in the 17200 block of Sunset. The suspect smashed a window to enter victim’s vehicle and took a laptop computer, clothing and shoes.

February 23 to 24, 9 p.m. to noon, in the 17200 block of Sunset. The suspect smashed a window to enter victim’s vehicle and took a laptop computer, iPad and navigation system.

February 24, 9:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Corsica. The suspect (40-year-old male, 6’2″, 150 lbs.) entered victim’s vehicle. It was unknown what property was stolen.

Moore reminds residents to report crimes. If not reported, a crime is not entered in the LAPD Database, which is used to allocate resources: i.e. more crimes, more cops.
