All of the rain that Pacific Palisades has received this year has helped produce an abundance of wildflowers in Wolfberg Park in Potrero Canyon.
The saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. And what do May showers bring? That was the question many were asking after rain showers and lightening/thunder occurred in the early morning of May 4 and dropped .7 inches of rain, which is atypical of Pacific Palisades.
The last recorded rainfall in the gauge on Radcliffe Avenue was 2 inches of rain on March 28-30. No rain was recorded in April.
For the season that runs July 1 through June 30, the total now stands at 32.1 inches of rain.
Although Palisades is far above the amount of rain received in the past six years (see below), the town is still well below of the 42.60 inches that was recorded in 1997-98.
The wildflowers continue to bloom in the local parks and in George Wolfberg Park at Potrero, which has been closed during the week for construction. It will be open this weekend and with highs predicted in the 60s and now rain, it might be the perfect time to take a stroll.
