Matthew Rodman, President of the Palisades Americanism Parade Association, announced that plans are now underway for the town’s annual Fourth of July festivities. The first meeting for volunteers will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at the Ronald Reagan American Legion Post 283, 15247 La Cruz Dr.
“This is the 75th year of the biggest day in the Palisades, the July 4th Parade,” Rodman said. “We’ll be celebrating all day long, including what we believe is among the best hometown parade and fireworks show in Southern California.”
Rodman said there is ample opportunities for everyone to participate, and residents can volunteer in the afternoon, the evening or both.
“At the parade, we can use your help coordinating the parade entries, building floats, helping to hand out or collect parade banners, carrying parade banners, assisting with parade flow, or helping at the grandstands,” Rodman said. During the evening fireworks and music show, help is needed with event setup, tickets and other numerous fun activities.
“Please join us at our first volunteer meeting,” Rodman said.
