This is the area near Potrero Canyon that will be closed for pipe replacement for the Malibu Branch Feeder Realignment.

(Editor’s note: This story was updated on January 30. CTN received word from L.A. County that because of the wet conditions along the roadway, the work was being delayed by one day and would now take place Wednesday, February 1 and February 2. The hours would stay the same.)

One westbound (north) lane of Pacific Coast Highway will be closed between Entrada Drive and Temescal Canyon Road. According to Steven Frasher the L.A. County Public Works Public Information Officer, the closure will start Wednesday, February 1, at 2 p.m. and last for 24 hours. The lane is projected to reopen February 2, at 2 p.m.

This is the last phase of the Malibu Branch Feeder Realignment, that relocated about 1,400 linear feet of 30-inch diameter water main to the current PCH shoulder, which will help improve water supply reliability for residents.

This closure most likely will affect rush-hour traffic headed to Malibu and points north on  and school traffic headed to Palisades Charter High School in the a.m. Residents and visitors are advised to plan accordingly.
