Oscar-Nominated Film to Play at Library

Adam Driver and John David Washington star in Spike Lee’s Oscar-nominated film BlacKkKlansman, playing at the Palisades Library on Saturday.

One of the films nominated for an Oscar this year, and directed by Spike Lee,will play at the Palisades Library community room at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, at the Palisades Library community room, 861 Alma Real Dr. The running time is 135 minutes: the film had a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 95 percent. The movie is free to the community.

The film initially opened at theaters in August and recounts the true story of black detective Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), who goes undercover to expose the Colorado Springs chapter of the Klu Klux Klan. The detective recruits a colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver) to aid in the investigation. This film, directed by Spike Lee, not only got the Best Picture nod, but also, Lee’s first Best Director nomination.
