The Village Green is a triangular private park maintained with donations.

(Editor’s note: Palisades resident Cindy Simon sent the following letter to many of her friends and shared it with Circling the News. The Village Green, a nonprofit, staffed by volunteers, has suffered vandalism over the past several months.)

My good friends in the Palisades:

Those of you who follow Sue Pascoe’s daily Pacific Palisades update newsletter “Circling the News” will have read today about our beloved Village Green, located in the center of our community.

This green, shady respite from a busy day shopping, grabbing a coffee, meeting a friend, or for many Pali High students catching the bus home requires funding to keep it looking as beautiful as our village deserves.

Tree trimming is a necessity, and the little dolphin fountain often needs repair and cleaning. The park is taken care of by a small group of dedicated local volunteers, headed up by my friend and “go – getter” Marge Gold.

I encourage everyone to consider making a donation of any amount towards the care of this little park… Happy post-Valentines Day!!

It’s easy to donate – see the link below

TREE TRIMMING:

On Thursday, the Village Green was roped off while Bartlett Tree Experts trimmed the pine tree. Village Green President Marge Gold said, “It took most of the day and the job was amazing. People will recognize it as the tree we install our holiday lights.” The Village Green is a private park run by the nonprofit. Donations are necessary to keep this small piece of “heaven” intact.
