Palisades High Girls Volleyball Wrap-up

It was an outstanding year for the Palisade High girls volleyball team. After winning the City Section Open Division championship (coming from behind to beat Taft in five sets), the Dolphins advanced to the quarterfinal round in the CIF Regional playoffs.

PaliHi Coach Carlos Gray was named the CIF Los Angeles coach of the year. The All-City first team included junior outside hitter Annie Eckert, the second team featured junior opposite side hitter Caroline Kedeshian and senior middle hitter Annie Wibbelsman.

Kedeshian made the All-City Open Division first team and Eckert and Wibbelsman were named to the second team.

To recap the season, Pali was 40-10 overall and 12-0 in the Western League, despite having a relatively yung team (only four seniors). After upsetting top-seeded Granada Hills in the City playoffs, the fourth-seeded Dolphins defeated Taft and then advanced to the Regional Division III tournament, where they were ranked seventh.

Pali defeated Oceanside El Camino 20-25, 29-27, 25-19 and 28-26 in the opening round, but then lost to second-seeded Sage Creek of Carlsbad 18-25, 18-25, 25-21 and 25-21.
