Pacific Palisades Senior Lead Officer Brian Espin filed a July 29 crime report before leaving on vacation for the month of August. Officer Jose Bermudez (402732lapd.online) will cover for Espin while he is away.
Espin warned, “This last week we had an increase of vehicle crimes. People are still leaving valuables in the car. The majority of the time our criminals do not break into a vehicle unless there is something to take. If you leave items in the car, at least hide them and secure them in the trunk.”
He also urged people to look out for each other and for neighbors. “You don’t have to like your neighbor, but you should be there in case of an emergency,” he said. “Most crimes can be deterred by being aware of your surroundings and letting your neighbors know what is going on. When people are out and about with eyes on the street, most criminals take notice and will move on to another area.”

There is parking validation at the Sunday farmers market. I asked the first veggie vendor (at the left as you enter the market from Sunset on Swarthmore) and he sent me to the crystals vendor. She had to call the market manager who told her where to find the validations and I was given one which said it was valid for the entire day… They are not making it easy!
