Free Flu Vaccination Clinic

The 2017-2018 flu season was a bad one, with flu and its complications killing around 80,000 people, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Experts say that was the highest flu death toll in four decades.

The Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club will be holding their annual Senior Flu Clinic (ages 50 and up) from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31 at the PPWC, 901 Haverford Ave.

No prior registration is needed, just come to the Clubhouse. The vaccination is free. Call (310) 454-9012 or Judy Hatchett, RN (310) 459-8344.

There are some indications that suggest this year’s flu season might be milder, but the CDC still recommend getting a flu shot before the end of October because it takes about two weeks for the flu shot to take effect.

Some people make excuses that the flu shot is not that effective, but the CDC stresses that even small increases in immunity can make a big difference.
