Many homeless living in the tents on the beach were helped with services from the Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness. Those individuals moving into apartments need household goods.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting a drive-through collection of housewares that will be given to individuals transitioning into housing from homelessness.
The Drive will support individuals that are aided through the local Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness.
Suggested items are listed below, and please donate NEW items only. From 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, at 575 Los Liones Drive (in the Mormon Church parking lot), volunteers will be ready to receive the items.
Members of the Church wrote: “It’s time to refresh our storage container! Last year the Palisades community generously supplied items needed to make housing into homes for the most vulnerable. Those items have made it into new homes, and we need more! You can purchase items from the Amazon link here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/ZFRMMGATGN2A?type=wishlist (please disregard outdated message on Amazon page) or from the list provided below and pick them up where you shop.”
It is also an opportunity to shop and support Anawalt, the hardware store across from Ralphs, which carries many of the items listed below.
