Author Teresa Power Presents New Book

Pacific Palisades resident and bestselling author Teresa Power will read her new book, “Yoga at the Zoo: Little Mouse Adventures,” at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, at the Palisades Library, 861 Alma Real.

The event is suggested for children ages 3 to 8 (and their adults), who will hear about Little Mouse and his cat friend, Mr. Opus. This is the first in the Little Mouse adventure books and it imparts lessons about friendship, while dealing with new situations and meeting new people.

“A must share with children! I love this sweet story with imaginative illustrations and a simple message that will truly resonate with kids (and adults),” author Sara J. Weis wrote. “As the founder of Go Go Yoga for Kids and a classroom teacher for over 20 years, I am always looking for fresh ideas and fun new ways to introduce yoga and mindfulness to children.”

After reading the book, Power will teach kids some simple yoga poses to help them not only stretch and strengthen their bodies, but also to keep them calm and focused.

Baby and Toddler Storytime

Storytime for babies and toddlers will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at the library.  Children participating must be under three years old and accompanied by a grownup.

Family Story Time

Family story time will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 and 17, in the library’s community room, 861 Alma Real. There will be stories, interplays and rhymes, which help build reading skills, while having fun. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
