Girl Scout members Maggie Denham and Caroline Schinto wrote a press release about their efforts to help animals. This is the troop’s bronze award fundraiser for Paws for Life K9 Rescue.

(Editor’s note: CTN was impressed with the press release and is printing it in its entirety below.)

Support Abandoned Dogs at the Paws for Life Shelter

Do you have a fuzzy friend at home, or are you a dog lover? Well, Pacific Palisades Girl Scout Troop 1305 is planning to take care of all those dogs without a home at the Paws for Life Shelter in Thousand Oaks.

About Our Project:

Girls Scout Troop 1305 must complete several hours of community service, and everyone in our troop loves animals, so we decided to aid dogs.

To help Paws for Life, we are making care kits for the dogs that consist of leashes, collars, toys and blankets/towels. We are also seeking donations.

About Paws for Life:

Paws for Life is a shelter that takes in dogs who were found abandoned and uncared for. Shelter workers used to be incarcerated, and while the dogs are given a second chance in life, the workers are given a second chance as well. Additional information is on the group’s website: click here.

How to Help: Donate supplies for the dogs!

Donate any used or new blankets or towels OR make a financial contribution to help us buy kits for dogs. Donation boxes will be located at Palisades Charter Elementary and Corpus Christi School May 15 through May 19.

Or you can visit Girl Scout Troop 1305 at our lemonade stands on Saturday, May 20 at the Palisades Recreation Center and on Sunday, May 21, in front of Starbucks across from the Village Green from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

And, you get a free lemonade with your donation!

We need to work together as a community to help those in need and create a better world. Thank you!

Members of Girl Scout Troupe 1305, would like help in providing blankets or towels and toys for dogs at the Paws for Life K-9 shelter.
