Sue, I am so sorry that you, that we, that I have lost yours/ours/my home. I was home on Jan 7 and was fortunate to go outside and check the sky at 10:35am. I was lucky Charlie wasn’t operating on a patient at 10:53am when I called his office and said it’s an emergency! Get home NOW! I was both fortunate and lucky that he made it home just in time for the mandatory evacuation notice to blare from our phones. I was also on crutches, had to evacuate the 85 year old woman who was visiting next door, and inform my neighbor on the other side that we needed to go RIGHT NOW. Maybe less lucky for me there, but positive for my neighbors. I took the last photo of my house at 11:34. At no time during the first hour of the fire did I see a firetruck on our street as we waited 40 minutes to turn on to Sunset. The person directing traffic was a local citizen with a big heart. Next time I want a big hose attached to the hydrant that was 20 ft from my front door. If you leave us to do these things, at least give us the tools. Big love Sue. This is tough.
