This eight-year-old hit a hole-in-one on hole three. Her teacher Carlos Rodriquez congratulates her.

Some schools are out for the entire Thanksgiving week, November 25 to 29. You don’t want your youth hanging around playing video games and they don’t want to go shopping during Black Friday sales.

Luckily there’s a golf camp for juniors that week (excluding Thanksgiving Day) at the Heroes Golf Course on the Veterans Administration grounds in West Los Angeles. The camp is co-ed and is for ages 7 to 14.

PGA Teaching Professional Carlos Rodriguez is the instructor on the nine-hole, three-par course. Youth may attend half or full day and select which days they would like to attend. Rodriquez teaches all aspects of the game, including rules, golf etiquette and course management.

A full day of golf from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. is $100 and half day, either from 9:30 to 12:30 p.m. or 1 to 4 p.m., is $50. There are no green fees. For more information, visit: LAGolfAcademy.com or call: (310) 230-2052 or email:  LAGolfAcademy@gmail.com.

In addition to the Thanksgiving camp, there’s also a winter golf camp from December 23 through January 10.

  1. Betsy Handler says:

Caruso has also blocked off 5 parking spaces on Monument, I presume to accommodate equipment for the tree. It’s outrageous that this man treats Monument and Swarthmore as his private streets, and shows his utter contempt for the neighborhood.
