Although three of the traditional Fourth of July celebrations in Pacific Palisades have been cancelled because of Covid-19–the 5/10K Will Rogers Race, the parade and the fireworks–big plans are still afoot.
And big plans for a Pacific Palisades Fourth of July celebration need a theme. On tap so far this year are a World War II flyover at 2 p.m., the traditional Home Decorating contest and a publication celebrating the town, produced by PAPA (the Palisades Americanism Parade Association).
Themes need to be short. Participants are encouraged to use six words or less. Last year, Reeve Chudd won with “May the 4th Be with You.” Enter more than once if you can’t decide which of your creative efforts is best.
The deadline for submitting a theme is Wednesday, June 3, at noon.
If you win, the PAPA publication (which will be mailed to every address in Pacific Palisades) will include a feature about you and how you came up with the theme. We encourage families to submit themes.
