PALISADES CRIME UPDATE October 15 to October 21

Palisades Senior Lead Officer Brian Espin wrote in an October 26 email that “Last week we had seven auto-related crimes. Most of the problems are around the tourist locations of the Palisades. The beach and hiking trails have been the focus of our extra patrol efforts.

“Halloween is just around the corner. Please be extra careful. There will be more families and kids walking around in the twilight and evening hours,” Espin said. “I will be out and driving around on Halloween, so if you see me come and say ‘Hi!'”

BURGLARY:

October 20, 2:30 a.m., in the 17000 block of Sunset Boulevard. Two male suspects smashed victims front glass door (restaurant), removed cash register and fled, possibly in a dark PT Cruiser. Prints were requested.

October 20, 2:33 a.m. in the 17000 block of Sunset Boulevard. Two male suspects smashed the victim’s front glass door (restaurant) took property and fled.

October 21, 12:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Bienveneda Avenue. A suspect entered rear yard, smashed rear sliding door. The suspect entered residence, ransacked and removed jewelry and fled.

BURGLARY THEFT FROM VEHICLE:

October 15, 4:05 to 8:05, in the 500 block of Los Liones Drive. The suspect entered the secured vehicle and removed property.

October 19 to 20, 3:30 p.m. to 6:45 a.m., in the 15000 block of Bowdoin Street. The suspect entered the secured vehicle, removed property and fled location.

October 19 to 20, 11 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Toyopa Drive. The suspect removed the victim’s property from an unsecure vehicle and fled.

October 21, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Temescal Canyon Road and Sunset Boulevard.A suspect smashed a passenger window, took property and fled.

October 21, 10:50 a.m. to noon, at Sunset Boulevard and El Medio Avenue. A suspect smashed a passenger window and took the victim’s property and fled.

October 21, 7:45 to 9:15 a.m., in the 900 block of Haverford Avenue. Suspect opened unlocked vehicle and took victim’s property and fled.

October 21, 8 a.m. in the 15000 block of Sunset Boulevard. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, attempted to take property, but was confronted by victim. A physical altercation occurred. The suspect fled without property. The suspect fled without property and was then seen on video stealing a vehicle located on Swarthmore (see below).

GRAND THEFT AUTO:

October 21, 8:20 a.m., in the 700 block of Swarthmore Avenue. The vehicle was taken from the street. Same suspect as BTFV (above).
