Cinque Terre West owners Gianba and Marlo Vinzoni will close their restaurant in the 970 Monument Boulding on June 23. The couple’s breakfast and sandwich deli DELIzioso Cinque at the same address will remain open and provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The restaurant which opened in 2019 rapidly became a favorite with residents. Two years later the owners expanded into a cozy nook of another store at the mini mall, opening wine bar Enoteca 5.
Reviews for the restaurant were favorable:
EaterLA wrote “Cinque Terre West Osteria is one of those charming finds with handmade pastas, good wines, pizzas, and tons of seafood dishes
Trip advisor wrote: “This one of the “off the beaten path” must go to Italian restaurants between Santa Monica and Malibu. The porterhouse steak and roasted potatoes, truffle (fresh truffle) pasta to die for and amazing pizzas. The brocollini and other veggies are fresh and so well prepared. Finally, the prices are extremely reasonable. A MUST VISIT!!!”
The Vinzonis in a May 31 press release wrote “After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease. We are deeply grateful for the memories we have shared with you at Cinque Terre West and we look forward to creating many more memorable moments with you at the DELIzioso Cinque.
“Thank you once again for being an integral part of our community,” the couple wrote. “We appreciate your understanding and support during this transition, and we look forward to seeing you before Cinque Terre doors close June 23rd.
The couple has lived in the Palisades for about 20 years and have two children, Chiara and Antonio, who attended local schools. The Vinzonis expressed their deepest gratitude to residents for loyal patronage and unwavering support over the years.
“It has been an incredible journey, and we are truly grateful to have had the privilege of cooking for and getting to know all of you, our wonderful customers,” the Vinzoni’s wrote. “We invite you to continue enjoying Chef Gianba’s delicious cuisine, where you can indulge in some of your favorite dishes and discover new culinary offerings.” https://www.deliziosocinque.com/ or call (310) 454-0709.
What a shame. I thought the expansion was a bad idea as a wine bar in a space in the building had opened and failed in a short time back in around 2005.
It must have been a tough decision.
The next Chapter should be both interesting and delicious! Thank you for many wonderful evenings on your patio as well as with delish take-outs. We’ll see you soon! And support Delizoso.
Why not try a dinner before June 23…. And then continue to support Marlo and Gianba by patronizing Delizoso.
I agree with Eileen. She said it so well. Why not try one last meal before the June 23 closing.
