Mark your calendars for one of the most unique and annual events in Pacific Palisades: the Orchid Auction.
The community is invited to preview the orchids at 6:45 p.m. in the Hart Lounge, at the Community Methodist Church, 801 Via de la Paz on Tuesday, March 19. The auction starts promptly at 7:15 p.m. Attendance is free and light refreshments will be served.
This will be a chance to bid on orchids from some of the finest growers in Southern California. There will also be orchids from some international vendors, who recently exhibited at the Santa Barbara Orchid Show.
There will be a variety of orchids for novice as well-advanced growers at remarkable prices.
Orchid expert and educator, Doug Overstreet, will conduct the
auction and provide culture tips on all auctioned plants.
This event is held once a year and is the annual fundraiser for the Orchid Society to help sustain educational activities. The proceeds raised from the
auction enable the Society to bring to the community excellent
speakers for their monthly meetings on various orchid topics.
The bidding for some orchids is fast and furious. For winners, payment is checks or cash, only.
