Tramonto Street in Castellammare was one of the first areas opened, now additional zones are being opened to the public.
Another area of the Palisades has been opened to residents – Zone 0767-L. This is the area of the Huntington Palisades and the Via las Olas Bluffs. The area is from Chautauqua to Temescal Canyon Road and south of Sunset Boulevard to Pacific Coast Highway.
This is the fourth area opened in the Palisades. The Highlands (0767-J), Surview (0767-F) and Castellammare (0767-F). (Also opened is the area below Mulholland Drive (0767-H)
These areas are open to residents only. Due to the extensive damage and utility personnel still working in the areas we are not allowing contractors or insurance adjusters up into the areas without the Resident in the vehicle with them. LAPD are trying to limit the number of vehicles and traffic in the area. Escort hours are from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. only.
- You have to show proof of residency in order to be escorted up to the area. You can stay at your property as long as you like. I believe they might be setting up escorts if you are going to leave the area. The Officers will tell you once you are getting escorted up.
- To access the staging area for escort, go down the California Incline and turn left onto PCH to parking lot 3 in Santa Monica, 1150 PCH to be escorted. This staging area is where residents identification will be verified.

- What is it?
Bless you for continuing to write and keep us informed during such a massive loss.
We have lost everything like you. We were on Via de la Paz. We also lost our Bank of America safe deposit box and have been very concerned. We don’t even have the key anymore, or documents for that box. Such an overwhelming mess on so many fronts.
Battling the insurance carrier for full payment will be a time consuming and soul sucking experience I think from what we have read. We have Mercury. I dread this but without knowing the insurance will pay out it is impossible to know if we will rebuild. I think Dept of Insurance Commissioner needs to step in and require full payout asap.
Any light you can shed on this will be immeasurably helpful.
