Professional Clothing Drive Underway
The American Legion Auxiliary is hosting a professional clothing and accessories drive through March 31.
Hosted through Working Wardrobes (WW), the nonprofit states: “We ask that you support us by donating gently loved items ONLY that are clean and on hangers.” Because of limited resources, WW cannot repair or press donated clothing.
The greatest needs are men’s and women’s accessories, handbags/briefcases, jewelry, shoes, belts and scarves, which should be casual and professional, classic and funky.
All sizes of men’s and women’s apparel are sought. Especially needed are men’s suits (36-40 & 48+), suit jackets, dress shirts (14-15 ½ and 18+) and dress pants for job interviews. Women’s suits, blazers, dress pants, blouses, skirts, dresses and cardigans are sought for those looking to reenter the job force (sizes 0-4 and 16+).
Clothing must be clean and on a hangar. The clothing and accessories must be in good condition, with no tears, no holes, no broken zippers and no stains.
Clothes may be dropped off at American Legion Post 283, 15247 La Cruz Dr., Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tax receipts are available upon donation.
