Volunteers Needed for Theatre Palisades Production
Volunteers are guaranteed a spot on stage, and are needed weekends from March 29 to May 5 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. (Or, sign up as a volunteer during tech week, which starts Sunday, March 24 at Pierson Playhouse, 941 Temescal Canyon Rd.)
The upcoming play, produced by Theatre Palisades, is Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris, which takes place on two different days, 50 years apart.
The opening set is a middle-class home in the suburbs of Chicago, circa 1959. The set changes drastically between the two acts into an abandoned and dilapidated house in 2009.
Volunteers help change sets onstage at intermission and get free tickets to see Clybourne Park – PLUS strong coffee, stale cookies and backstage camaraderie
Come be a part of the Stage Crew and learn the ins-and-outs of set changes, props, cues, and more. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Hang out with the actors and tech crew. Work one day, two days or the entire run.
Playwright Norris won both the Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award for this topical and poignant play, that will be directed by theater veteran Tony Torrisi.
Sherman Wayne, the set designer and builder, will choreograph the set change to ensure an easy transition. You don’t need to be terribly fit or coordinated to volunteer. Call or email Sherman for details swayne812@aol.com or phone (310) 738-0407.
