Revision of the City Zoning Code Explained
The Pacific Palisades and Brentwood Community Councils will co-host a workshop this Saturday on how to navigate the newly revised Zoning Code, which is slated to be signed by the City Council and will provide the new guidelines for building.
The current zoning code is 73 years old and re:codeLA is an update and a streamlining of the old code. The almost 950-page document can be found under Processes and Procedures Staff Recommendation and Ordinance (9/12/2018) on the website: recode.la/about/project-files. The new code will regulate what a property owner may do with their land and buildings.
Principal City Planner Thomas Rothmann, one of the people who signed the report, will be one of the speakers on Saturday. Joining him with explanations is Sharon Commins, the co-chair of the LA Zoning Advisory Committee (re:codeLA) and co-chair of the Westside Regional Alliance of Councils Land Use and Planning Committee.
The workshop will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, at Palisades Charter High School in Gilbert Hall. The event is free, and parking is available.
