The L.A. Times reported on Sunday that “Real estate losses from the Palisades and Eaton Fires could top $30 billion and governmental agencies that receive revenue from taxes stand to lose $61 million or more annually. . . .L.A. Housing Department records show that 770 rent-controlled units were destroyed in Pacific Palisades and will be lost as affordable housing if their replacements no longer fall under the city’s rent stabilization ordinance.

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass has used different excuses about why she is not to blame for  the lost of a community.

Top Five Reasons that Mayor Karen Bass says she is not to blame and takes no responsibility for the devastation of the Palisades Fire.

  1. I’m pretty.
  2. There’s no cell service in Ghana.
  3. People in Palisades are always whining about no police.
  4. I hire vegans.
  5. Palisadians didn’t ask me to ride in the 4th of July parade last year.

  1. george gonzalez says:

i believe that the governor is the one with the authority to remove karen from her post. everyone get behind this.

  2. Dana Dalton says:

Santa Ynez reservoir and the Chautauqua reservoir were built to
FIGHT FIRE , that was their SOLE PURPOSE.
Karen Bass did not know the history of Los Angeles fires or
    Chose to ignore that history.
I guess she had never heard of the Bel Air Fire is 1961 or
The Pacific Palisades fire of 1978.
Nor did she read about the Chumash Indians who wrote about the Santa Anna winds forever.
Because of this she is NOT qualified to be mayor of Los Angeles
    RESIGN KAREN BASS

  3. wendy says:

    with (non) leadership comes fault.
For example; The mayor of Hoboken is anticipating flooding now and in the future, and has acted accordingly.
It is Ms Bass’ fault for being so utterly absent and unable to call the resources to address the fire over many many days. When Rome burned Nero fiddles and she fiddled around to lose her constituents support.
The sooner she admits it and leaves , the better.

  4. RAY HOJEM says:

Yes, I think we all know and understand that Karen Bass is the only perfect person in the city.
