Theatre Palisades Youth is hosting an in-person, outdoor improvisation class on Mondays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at a location in Pacific Palisades. This class has been organized with the purpose of bringing support to and healing for Nate Steinsapir, Molly Steinsapir’s brother, and other children in our TPY community who may be grieving.
The class is offered for fourth through eighth graders and attendance is on a drop-in basis. All activities are outdoors, and participants wear masks. Theatre Palisades Youth Director Lara Ganz leads the class, with Spencer Rodman, a TPY alum, assisting.
“Laughter is the best medicine,” said Ganz, who invites local residents to come join in some very silly laughs together, in honor of Molly Steinsapir.
The class is tuition free and donations to Molly’s Fund are welcome, but not necessary.
“We have been having a lot of fun and it has been really uplifting to laugh together again!” Ganz told CTN, noting that most of the kids have been returning each week, but it is not necessary to commit to every Monday. “The class is open to ‘drop-in’ attendance; therefore, kids can begin participation any week.”
Molly Steinsapir, 12, passed away after a tragic bicycle accident earlier this year. Her family established a fund to honor Molly’s memory and her love of performing, designating Theatre Palisades. Visit: Theatrepalisades.org.
