Heavy rain made the early morning rush hour difficult on Thursday, December 7.

Pacific Palisades December Rain Report

According to Carol Leacock, the town’s County-certified rainmeister, “the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday storm brought us 2.5 inches of rain.”

Leacock who lives on Bienveneda, tracks the town’s rainfall.

Since October, she reports that our town has received 5.45 inches of rain.

The recorded rain season starts July 1 and runs through June 30. Leacock said the driest season in the Palisades, since record-keeping began in 1942, was 4.11 inches in 2006-2007, which we’ve already surpassed this season.

    James,

I found a December 2014 rain report “Pacific Palisades received 1.41 inches of rain December 11 and 12, for a season total of 3.60 inches of rain, according to local rainmeister Carol Leacock, who has the official Los Angeles County rain gauge located in her backyard on Bienveneda Avenue.
Normal to date is 3.32 inches.”
