The Pacific Palisades Library Association (Friends of the Library) will continue with its Writers, Artists and Musicians Series by featuring “Eugene Levy: In Conversation” on Thursday, March 9.
Levy, an Emmy-winning actor, producer, writer and Palisades resident, will be live streamed at 7 p.m. from the library’s community room. To receive the complimentary link, please visit FriendsOfPaliLibrary.org and select the Live-Stream Registration option on the event registration page.
The Palisades “Conversation” will follow the global premiere of Levy’s new show, “The Reluctant Traveler,” on February 24. This is a non-scripted Apple TV+ series that follows Levy as he visits some of the world’s most remarkable hotels and explores the places and cultures that surround them. Levy also serves as host and executive producer of the new show.
Levy starred in the comedy series “Schitt’s Creek,” which he co-created with his son, Daniel Levy. This was one of the most groundbreaking comedy television series of the last decade, and holds the distinction of winning the most Emmys in a single year—nine Emmy Awards for its sixth and final season in 2020.
The Palisades Honorary Mayor is also known for his role as the dad in the “American Pie” franchise and for his collaborations with Christopher Guest on films such as “Best In Show,” “Waiting For Guffman,” “For Your Consideration” and “A Mighty Wind.”
A native of Canada, Levy was awarded the Order of Canada in 2011, the Canadian equivalent to British knighthood. He is the co-author of the New York Times bestseller “Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek,” which was published in 2021.
“We are truly excited to continue our WAM Series with one of the most iconic artists in Hollywood,” said Laura Schneider, president of the Pacific Palisades Library Association. “We have enjoyed the comedy and creativity of Eugene Levy from his earliest days with ‘SCTV’ and are especially proud of him for his civic mindedness in his current role as our town’s honorary mayor.”
Levy said, “We’re fortunate to have a wonderful public library in Pacific Palisades and I am pleased to support Friends of the Library as they work to provide a vibrant hub of community activity.”
Members of Friends of the Palisades Library will receive advance notification and priority access to future programs in the WAM Series. Memberships are available on the event registration page.
