Senior Alliance to Discuss ‘Joint Replacement’
The topic for the 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 3 meeting of Palisades Alliance for Seniors is “Joint Replacement.”
The speaker will be Dr. Adam Sassoon, an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is a dual-fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with expertise in joint preservation/reconstruction and orthopedic traumatology.
Joint replacement involves removing damaged or diseased parts of a joint—most often a hip or knee—and replacing them with manmade implants.
Sassoon will explain the procedure and the diagnostic factors that would indicate joint surgery. He will cover benefits and risks of surgery as well as what to expect during recuperation.
The meeting will be held in the Palisades Library community room, 861 Alma Real, and all are welcome.
Since this is the first meeting of the month, a Palisades Alliance for Seniors tradition, honoring everyone with a December birthday, will also be held.
