Tree Specialist to Speak Monday
The Pacific Palisades Garden Club will feature master arborist Lisa Smith at its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m., Monday, February 4, at the Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club, 901 Haverford Ave.
Smith, who has spent 25 years as a registered arborist and qualified tree assessor, will speak about how to select, plant and care for trees so they live long lives.
“A certified arborist’s job is not only to evaluate a tree’s health and vigor but to analyze its safety, enhance its structure, apply scientific evaluation and proper timely treatments so that we may enjoy a tree’s lifetime of beauty and comfort,” said Smith, who has worked in many areas of the tree industry, including maintenance, pruning, installation and risk management.
The owner of Tree Resource, Smith also is an instructor for the UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program. She also teaches the best practices for good tree care for professionals and affiliate green groups. (Visit: thetreeresource.com.)
