The Theatre Palisades Actors’ Troupe will hold its 11th annual Christmas Radio Show, It’s a Wonderful Life”on Wednesday, December 18.
This free performance at Pierson Playhouse starts at 7 p.m. in the lobby as people eat cookies and drink Martha Hunter’s mulled wine. Hunter, who is also the TPAT founder, has an incredible recipe for the drink that makes one feel all cozy inside.
Promptly at 7:30 p.m. actors will take the stage for an hour presentation of It’s a Wonderful Life, a reenactment of a 1940s radio show – usually complete with an advertisement from that era. The Foley artists will be on hand, and it is great fun watching and listening to the sound effects.
Afterwards, there is a drawing held for different raffle items that in the past have included a Luxe coffee certificate, wine, mugs and even subscription to an upcoming Theatre Palisades season. Anyone who has attended the show is automatically entered into the drawing.
If you have never been before, try to attend. You will not be disappointed. This free event is just a nice way to de-stress, relax and enjoy live entertainment. It is definitely worth turning your television set off and coming out to meet other community members.
The Actors’ Troupe is requesting attendees to bring a canned item that can be donated to the Westside Food Bank. Visit: Theatrepalisades.org/tpat.
