The food at Cafe Vida is healthy, low-fat Californian- and Latin-based fare.

Café Vida, the popular eatery on Antioch, posted the following note in its window on Monday:

Dear Customers,

We received a note today (7/20/2020) that one of our employees has tested positive for Covid-19. As a precaution we have made the decision to close for the next 24 hours to ensure we have sufficient time to conduct deep cleaning and sanitation to the entire premises.

All employees who worked the same shift as the employee who tested positive have been directed to self-quarantine and get tested before returning to work.

We are planning to re-open on Wednesday, July 22, however we will be implementing temporary hours of operation from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice. We need to ensure that all employees and our customers are protected against the spread of Covid-19.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and hope to be back to our usual operating hours very soon.

We thank the establishment for letting customers know and appreciate the steps they are taking to keep customers and employees protected.

  1. Red Threads says:

Closing 24 hours is absurdly insufficient.

  2. Sue says:

It appears that they closed more than 24 hours–the notice went up on Monday and they were still not opened on Tuesday evening. They are observing the L.A County guidelines. I applaud them for letting people know.
