Parade Theme Deadline Is April 6
This will be the 71st annual Pacific Palisades Fourth of July Parade, and PAPA (Palisades Americanism Parade Association) is once again asking residents to submit a memorable parade theme.
As everyone knows, a great slogan or catchphrase helps people remember and identify with a product or cause. For example: McDonalds “I’m Lovin’ It” or Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes “They’re GR-R-R-reat!” or Kit Kat “Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat” or Skittles “Taste the Rainbow.”
It’s your turn. Come up with a catchy, but short theme (no more than six words). Each person may submit a maximum of two entries.
Last year’s winner, submitted by Brendan Serapiglia, was “Palisades Parade–70 Years of Cheers!”
In addition to a story about the winner in the official parade program, he or she will ride atop a Station 69 fire truck in the parade, joined by family and friends.
Serapiglia said that after the article appeared, people came up and congratulated him. “I’m a local celebrity! Everyone thought the theme was great and I think the article and theme has generated a big feel good factor amongst everyone I know.”
It’s your turn to be a local celebrity and come up with a theme to kick off this year’s Fourth of July in Pacific Palisades.
Visit: Palisades4th.com/parade/theme. Go to the theme button and submit by noon on Saturday, April 6, or email themes to parade@palisades4th.com.
The link to submit suggestions is: http://palisades4th.com/parade/theme
People have been asked to submit no more than 2 suggestions and to limit the theme/slogan to no more than 6 words.
Contact numbers are also requested in the form in order for the Committee to be able to contact the winner in mid-April.
Thanks to all.
