The Corpus Christi Church that bordered the library, and park was destroyed.

(Editor’s note: A long-time parishioner sent an update for Corpus Christi Church. Many will remember that the church burned on January 8, a day after the initial fire raced through the Palisades, leaving the congregation without a church and parish.)

Father Liam Kidney wrote: “On behalf of the Corpus Christi Catholic Community and Parish, I am so pleased to announce that we have now secured a “semi-permanent” sacred space for us to gather each Sunday as we continue our mission to build the Body of Christ for Pacific Palisades.

The “Roaming” Catholics will now settle down and meet each Sunday at St. Joseph Chapel at the Carondelet Center, 11999 Chalon Road, Los Angeles 90049 starting this Sunday, April 13.

Holy Week and Easter services will be held at St. Joseph’s Chapel as follows:

 HOLY WEEK AND EASTER SCHEDULE

Palm Sunday, April 13 – Mass at 9:30 a.m.

Holy Thursday, April 17, Mass at 4 p.m.

Good Friday, April 18, Liturgical Service at noon (Stations of the Cross at 1:30 pm)

Easter Sunday, April 20 – Mass at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

I hope many of you will be able to join Fr. Valerian and me and our wonderful religious leader team as we begin this new path in our journey as the Body of Christ.

Siempre Adelante!

This is how the building looked before the fire.

How wonderful the Lutheran Church will be resuming services in their home and that Corpus Christi has found an welcoming place to worship as well.

Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church, which also burned to the ground, begins worshiping on Sundays at Brentwood Presbyterian Church at 12000 San Vicente Blvd. this Sunday, April 13th. All are welcome to join us for services 2:30 every Sunday afternoon. Please also gather with us for a Good Friday remembrance on April 18th at 7:00 pm in the Brentwood Pres sanctuary.

Pali Pres thanks both Westwood Presbyterian and Culver City Presbyterian churches for providing us temporary homes since January 7th.

    Lynn,

Thanks so much for the update–I’ll also put it in musings, so more people can see it.
