Foodies loved Cinque Terre West and its smaller deli, Delizioso, operated by noted Chef Gianbattista “Gianba” and wife Marlo Vinzoni that were formerly located on Monument Street in the heart of the Palisades.
When the couple’s Palisades home burned and the building that housed the restaurant had not yet reopened, the couple had to find a new home for Cinque Terre West at The Colony, 401 Lincoln Boulevard in Venice.
“After an incredibly challenging time for us all, we are thrilled to announce the reopening of Cinque Terre West,” Marlo said. “As many of us have found ourselves living across different parts of Los Angeles, reconnecting with our community through food has been our driving force and a key part of our own recovery.”
Gianba said “Our mission has always been to bring people together through authentic, high-quality Italian cuisine, and we are happy to continue that tradition. We’re back, and we’re here to serve you.”
To make this reopening even more special, the couple has combined customer favorites from Cinque Terre West and Delizioso Cinque into one incredible menu. I
The choices include handmade pastas, homemade bread and locally sourced fresh ingredients—and, of course, croissants, which were rated as some of the best in Los Angeles.
People’s favorite dishes are available for pickup, delivery, or stop by The Colony to enjoy a taste of home. The restaurant will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“We are beyond grateful for the continued love and support from our friends, family, and community.” Marlo said. “This isn’t just about reopening our doors—it’s about bringing back a piece of the Palisades to those who have missed it most.”
The new location will also give people on the Westside easier access to some of the top Italian food in the city.
Cinque Terre opened in 2019. Gianba grew up cooking with his grandmother, who made fresh pasta, stomped grapes for homemade wine, picked olives for pressing olive oil, and raised her own chickens, rabbits and pigs. His parents still live in Bonassola, in the Cinque Terre region.
Gianba spent five years as an Italian Navy Seal, where he worked in the kitchen. He moved to Los Angeles more than two decades ago and rapidly was hired by some of the top kitchens in the city. He even crafted food for the Golden Globes dinners in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

I am SO happy Cinque Terre and Delizioso have reopened at the Colony! As an Italian Palisades resident I have sorely missed them. The Colony on Lincoln is at a convenient location, with its open tables and free parking in the back.
And the food is excellent, just like at the restaurant and deli.
Thank you, Marlo and Gianba!
