Electrical Outage in Pacific Palisades
According to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power there is an outage affecting 1,755 customers that stretches from portions of of the west side of Temescal Canyon Road to the Marquez Knolls area to the lower club portion of the Bel-Air Bay Club.
At 8 p.m. LADWP reported it had a crew en route and the estimated restore time is 10:30 p.m.
The Bel Air Bay Club staff alerted members that they would be unable to offer any food or beverages for the remainder of the evening and if the power was not restored before dark, members would be required to leave the club.
Nextdoor had reports from 28 people from Alamar to Sunset to Jacon Way to Las Pulgas that electricity was out. (Visit: ladwp.com/ladwp/faces/header/outageinformation.)
LADWP was contacted about the reason for the outage. Dawn Cotterell, LADWP Community Affairs, responded in an email to circlingthenews on July 31.
“The outage was caused by a tree getting into the conductors,” Cotterell wrote. “The outage stated at 5:59 p.m. and lasted 4 hours and 31 minutes. The crew had to cut the tree out of the conductors and then re-install it.”
